1. About this policy
This policy describes how Eternity Group Accountants (ABN 32 447 507 241) and Eternity Mortgage Solutions (ABN 93 534 988 670) (together, “Eternity Group”, “we”, “us”) collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information.
We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where applicable, the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2014 (CR Code).
2. What personal information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, including:
- Identity details: name, date of birth, address, contact details (email, phone), copies of identification documents (driver's licence, passport, Medicare card).
- Financial information: income, assets, liabilities, expenses, tax file number, bank statements, payslips, contracts of sale, business financial statements.
- Sensitive information (where directly relevant): family situation, health information for income protection or insurance applications.
- Credit information: credit history, credit eligibility information, repayment history, default information, and information from credit reporting bodies.
- Website analytics: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, referral source — collected via Google Analytics 4.
3. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you in most cases — via forms, telephone, email, in-person meetings, and our website contact form — and from third parties with your consent, such as:
- The Australian Taxation Office (with appropriate authorisation).
- Credit reporting bodies (Equifax, illion, Experian) where you have applied for credit.
- Lenders and the aggregator (Loans Only Pty Ltd, ACL 561324).
- Your employer, accountant or solicitor where you have authorised contact.
4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information
We use your personal information to:
- Provide accounting, tax, BAS, SMSF compliance, and bookkeeping services.
- Provide mortgage broking services including loan recommendation, application, and ongoing review.
- Comply with our legal obligations under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009, National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006, and the Corporations Act.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide ongoing support.
- Verify your identity in accordance with Australian Government AML/CTF requirements.
5. Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information to:
- The Australian Taxation Office, Tax Practitioners Board, Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and other regulators.
- Lenders and lender mortgage insurers as part of any credit application you authorise.
- Our aggregator Loans Only Pty Ltd (ACL 561324).
- Our independent SMSF auditor where you are an SMSF client.
- Professional advisers (solicitors, valuers, conveyancers) you authorise us to engage on your behalf.
- Cloud-based service providers including Xero, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace — all governed by Australian or EU privacy frameworks.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
6. Credit reporting information
If you apply for credit through Eternity Mortgage Solutions, we may collect, hold, use and disclose credit information and credit eligibility information in accordance with the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2014. This includes credit reports from credit reporting bodies and information about your repayment history. Detailed credit reporting information is set out in our Credit Guide.
7. Tax File Numbers
We collect tax file numbers (TFNs) only where lawfully authorised under the Tax Administration Act 1953. TFNs are stored encrypted, used only for taxation purposes, and never disclosed except to the ATO or with your express authorisation.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-B6GYXG8F1P) with IP anonymisation enabled. We do not use cookies for advertising or profiling on this website. You can disable cookies at the browser level at any time.
9. Storage and security
Personal information is stored on Australian and EU cloud infrastructure with end-to-end encryption in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised personnel. Physical documents are stored at our registered office and destroyed securely when no longer required by law.
10. Access and correction
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request correction of inaccurate information. Email rohan@egaamb.com.au with your request. We respond within 30 days.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at rohan@egaamb.com.au so we can investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au. For credit-related complaints, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is our external dispute resolution scheme — phone 1800 931 678, website www.afca.org.au, member numbers 111743 and 111742.
