Payroll handled properly

Pay runs, Single Touch Payroll, superannuation and PAYG withholding processed accurately and on time — run inside your Xero file and reconciled to your accounts, with records kept tidy for the ATO.

Eternity Group Accountants provides business advisory and BAS services as a registered tax agent (TPB 25523469). Information on this page is general in nature and does not take into account your specific business circumstances. Engagement scope, fees and deliverables are confirmed in a written engagement letter before work begins.

Who it's for

For employers who want pay day off their desk.

A managed payroll function for Sydney small businesses — accurate processing, on-time reporting and records you can stand behind, without the fortnightly stress.

Owners who would rather not run payroll

If pay day is a recurring stress every fortnight, we take the processing off your desk so you can stay focused on running the business rather than checking timing windows and recalculating leave.

Growing teams past the spreadsheet stage

Once you have more than a handful of staff, manual calculations and ad-hoc super payments start to slip. A structured process keeps each pay run consistent, on time and reportable.

Businesses already on Xero

We run payroll inside your existing Xero file, so wages, PAYG withholding and superannuation flow straight through to your accounts and BAS without double handling.

Employers who want records audit-ready

Payslips, leave balances, super and STP reports kept tidy and in one place — the documentation you want on hand if the ATO, an employee or your accountant ever needs to look back.

What this covers

The full payroll cycle, managed.

From each pay run through to year-end finalisation, with super and PAYG withholding reconciled to your accounts so nothing drifts out of step.

Pay run processing

Gross · PAYG-W · leave · net pay

Each scheduled pay run processed from your approved timesheets or fixed salaries — gross pay, PAYG withholding, leave accruals and net pay calculated and ready for you to pay.

Single Touch Payroll

STP reporting & finalisation →

Every pay run reported to the ATO through STP Phase 2, with end-of-year finalisation so each income statement is marked tax-ready. The deeper detail lives on the payroll & STP page.

Superannuation guarantee

OTE · clearing house · quarterly

Super calculated on ordinary time earnings each period and prepared for lodgement through the clearing house ahead of the quarterly due dates, with the deadlines built into your calendar.

PAYG withholding & records

Tracked · reconciled · retained

PAYG withholding tracked through every pay run and reconciled to your BAS, with payslips and payroll records retained for the periods the ATO requires.

New starters & exits

TFN · super choice · final pays

New employees set up with TFN declarations and super choice, and terminations processed — including unused leave — so final pays are calculated and reported correctly.

Reconciliation to your accounts

Wages · super · BAS →

Wages, super and withholding reconciled to your ledger so what is reported to the ATO matches your accounts — see BAS agent services.

One roof

Where payroll meets accounting.

Payroll is not a standalone task — it touches your BAS, your accounts and your tax position every single period.

Every pay run you process has a ripple effect. The PAYG withholding you deduct is reported on your activity statements, the superannuation you accrue becomes a real liability with a hard deadline, and the wages you pay sit in your profit and loss. When payroll is run in isolation from the rest of your accounting, those figures drift apart and the year-end reconciliation turns into a clean-up exercise.

Because we are a Chartered Accountant practice as well as your payroll provider, we keep these threads joined. Running payroll inside your Xero file means wages, super and withholding post straight to your ledger, so when it is time to prepare a BAS through a registered agent the PAYG withholding already ties out. Coordinated bookkeeping means your reports reflect payroll automatically rather than after a manual catch-up.

For owners who want the numbers to inform decisions, accurate payroll also feeds the wage and labour figures that matter for virtual CFO planning and broader accounting work. It is the same picture, kept consistent across the year, rather than several versions stitched together at tax time.

What to watch

The payroll risks worth knowing.

Processing is the easy part — these are the areas where employers most often come unstuck, and where the boundaries of this service matter.

Awards and Fair Work sit outside this service

We process pay to the rates, hours and classifications you provide. Interpreting modern awards, the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements and minimum entitlements is specialist employment-law and industrial-relations work — we do not assume that scope, and we point you to a suitable specialist where it is needed.

Super due dates are unforgiving

Superannuation guarantee must be received by the fund by the quarterly cut-off, not just paid by you. Late super is not deductible and can trigger the super guarantee charge, so we build the deadlines into your payroll calendar.

STP errors compound

Because STP reports to the ATO every pay run, a wrong classification or a missed finalisation flows through to your employees' income statements. We check each run rather than discovering issues at year-end.

Contractor versus employee

Treating a worker as a contractor when they are really an employee can create back-pay, super and PAYG exposure. Where the line is unclear we flag it so it can be reviewed properly before it becomes a problem.

How we work

A clear payroll rhythm.

A predictable sequence so each pay run is consistent, reportable and on time — and nothing slips through the cracks between runs.

Review your setup

We look at how you currently pay staff, your pay cycle, super arrangements and STP status, then confirm what needs tidying before the first run.

Configure payroll in Xero

Employees, pay items, leave and super are set up cleanly so each pay run calculates consistently and reports correctly through Single Touch Payroll.

Process each pay run

On your schedule we process pay from approved hours or salaries, issue payslips, and lodge the STP report to the ATO for that run.

Manage super & withholding

We prepare super for the clearing house each quarter and reconcile PAYG withholding so it ties back to your activity statements.

Finalise & report

At year-end we complete STP finalisation, reconcile the full year, and keep your payroll records organised and retrievable for the ATO.

Keep it coordinated

Payroll figures stay aligned with your bookkeeping and BAS so the numbers reported to the ATO match your accounts, period after period.

Frequently asked questions

Payroll questions, answered.

We process your scheduled pay runs, calculate PAYG withholding and leave accruals, report each run to the ATO through Single Touch Payroll, prepare superannuation for the clearing house each quarter, and reconcile wages and withholding back to your accounts and BAS. We also set up new starters, process terminations and complete the end-of-year STP finalisation. The focus is accurate, on-time processing and clean records — the mechanics of paying people correctly and meeting your ATO and super reporting obligations period after period.
